2012 Peugeot 408
Specifications prices Modifications and Image 2012 Peugeot 408
A decisive step in the Lion’s offensive on the world’s foremost automobile market. Presented today, as a world premier on the Chinese market, to around 300 Chinese journalists and more than 700 network representatives by Jean-Marc Gales the Marque’s Managing Director, the new Peugeot 408 marks a further step in the Marque’s offensive on the world’s foremost automobile market.
Despite being present on the Chinese market for 5 years only, the Peugeot Marque sold over 410 000 vehicles in 2009. This corresponds to a 44% sales increase compared with its 2008 performance.
Following its fine performance in the M1 segment with the success of the 307 saloon and the 307 notch-back, of which 3,522,800 have been produced worldwide, Peugeot is now quite legitimately embarking on a Chinese market offensive with its new 408 DF Peugeot.
This new prestigious notchback tailored for the Chinese market will serve to reinforce Dong Feng Peugeot’s product offer on the M1 segment that accounts for over 45 % of the total market.
In this manner, the new Peugeot DF 408 should enable the Lion Marque to increase its sales volumes by over 30% in 2010, compared with 2009, and thereby to grow at twice the forecast pace of the market.
The 408 thus highlights the aspects that give this new saloon a distinctive character. With a modern offer aimed at satisfying the requirements of this segments consumers, Peugeots ambition is to set new standards on the market, with:
A harmonious, appealing style, combination of dynamism and prestige.
Excellent interior comfort.
A high quality image.
Improved driving pleasure and comfort.
Latest generation equipment.
A very high level of safety.
The 408 is the first vehicle on the roads in Brazil to display the new Lion logo, whose more dynamic and pure shape enhances and strengthens the Peugeot brand identity.
The 408 saloon’s architecture has been designed and developed jointly by Peugeots Styling teams in Europe and China and meets three key objectives to embody the Marques latest style, guarantee maximum safety and offer unrivalled interior space.
The 408 name follows the Marques traditional naming logic. The figure 4 ers to the size of the car (4.68 m) and its positioning in the medium-luxury family saloon segment. The 0 in the middle signifies that it belongs to the Peugeot Marque, while the 8 expresses the vehicle generation.
With this name, the 408 naturally falls into place within the current Peugeot range and becomes the forerunner of the 8 series, the latest generation vehicles to be launched on the Chinese market.
The Dong Feng Peugeot 408 is the result of the joint venture set up between PSA Peugeot Citroën and the Chinese group DFM. The car is being produced at the Wuhan plant in Hubei province in China. It is positioned to become one of the markets benchmark vehicles with a full-year sales objective of 100,000 units.
The 408 is a notchback of generous dimensions. With its half-height architecture that gives a strong sensation of space, it is 4.69 m long and 1.815 m wide, with a 2.81m wheelbase.
Those in the front enjoy a high quality, dynamic environment, adding to the driving pleasure, while rear passengers have a very luminous, comfortable and extremely spacious compartment.
The large boot, with pantographic opening and excellent access to the interior, has a load space of 526 litres, one of the largest in the segment.
The 408 is a latest generation vehicle that incorporates all Peugeots expertise in terms of dynamic driving behaviour and safety.
Its rigid structure, together with the passenger restraints (up to six airbags) and equipment such as ESP and ABS as standard for emergency braking assistance and electronic brake force distribution (EBDF), guarantee an exemplary level of safety.
The quality of the chassis which, inter alia, gives it great structural rigidity, ensures an excellent performance from the running gear, for safe, precise, comfortable road-holding. Indeed, great attention has been paid to all aspects concerning on-board comfort: suspension, acoustic filtering, thermal regulation and seat quality.
All these elements combined ensure an incomparable driving experience, worthy of the Peugeot DNA. As always, driving pleasure is a priority for the Lion Marque.

Red Peugeot 308 GTi 2010
Red Peugeot 308 GTi
The Peugeot 308 GTi come with the same 1.6 litre THP 147 kW (200 PS) engine that will be featured in the RCZ coupe model. That engine makes the 308 GTI competitive with the 155 kW (211 PS) of the Golf GTI - the benchmark GTI for this segment.
The THP engine, fitted with a twin-Scroll turbocharger and a high pressure direct-injection system with VTi technology (variable valve and timing injection), produces 275 Nm (203 lb-ft) of torque and will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes 7.7 seconds while fuel consumption will be 6.9 liters/100 km and CO2 emissions 159 g/km.
A sound system technology has also been employed to make sure the engine rumble provides for just the right sporty sound that customers will be looking for.
For the proper GTi ride the 308s front MacPherson suspension gets larger bearings with specific damper settings for the 22 mm rods (20 mm in the standard car). The rear torsion beam suspension also gets the same damper treatment.
On the outside are 18-inch wheels with 225/40 R18 tires, a rear spoiler, a lowered rear bumper fitted to a black (Perla Nera) diffuser and dual chrome exhaust pipes. The front fascia also gets a lowering panel borrowed from the 308 CC and a carbon-style insert beneath the front bumper.
GTi-badges are featured on the side and rear of the car.
On the interior are an aluminum foot rest and gear knob and a leather sport steering wheel.

2012 Peugeot iOn
Specifications prices Modifications and Image 2012 Peugeot iOn
The 2011 Peugeot iOn is offers a concrete and accessible response to the challenges of urban mobility and environmental responsibility that there is absolutely no exhaust emission. It is 100% electric car and environmentally-friendly mobility: lithium-ion batteries rechargeable in six hours, quick charge in 30 minutes. The Peugeot iOn has four doors, four seats, a length of 3.48 m and a turning circle radius of 4.50 m.
The 2011 Peugeot iOn develops a maximum power of 47 kW (64 bhp) and a torque of 180 Nm, offering a level of performance perfectly suited to 90% of car journeys. It’s can reach a maximum speed of 130 kph and a comfortable range of 130 km in the European standardised cycle.
RANGE
Thanks to the energy management of its Lithiumion battery and optimised energy recovery during deceleration and braking, the range as per the European standard cycle is 150 km. In practical terms this is sufficient to cover the majority of a motorists’ daily trips, 90% of which are in fact less than 60 km. It takes 6 hours to fully recharge the battery using a traditional household socket. A quick charge using a special charging unit provides a 50% charge in only fifteen minutes, or 80% in thirty minutes. Bearing in mind that a conventional car is at a standstill for around 90% of the time when used in an urban or semi-urban context, the time needed to recharge the Peugeot iOn is entirely compatible with what motorists are used to.
UNBEATABLE RUNNING COSTS
With running costs between 1.50 and 2.00 per 100 km, the energy bill of the Peugeot iOn is unbeatable regardless of which recharging mode is used.Carried out overnight or during ‘off-peak hours’ recharging costs can be reduced further and help optimise the use of available power produced by the electricity supply companies
CLEAR CUSTsayaER INTEREST
Local authorities and governments are in favour of integrating this new technology with state aid and by installing a programme for a re-charging infrastructure. These authorities are also potential customers with their own fleet of vehicles and car-share projects which are envisaged in several cities.
To date Peugeot has already signed fifteen letters of intent with mobility operators, energy companies, leasing and car-sharing companies in a number of European countries.
From the numerous contacts from private individuals received on the special Peugeot iOn website, these individuals are also interested in 100% electric technology when it is proposed by an established manufacturer such as Peugeot. Within the Mu by Peugeot network, the first mobility service offered by a manufacturer, Peugeot iOn will be one of the vehicles available for short term loan. Individuals will therefore be able to try out this new way of getting around town or choose a zero emissions car for a timely trip.
Peugeot is proposing several different technologies in response to the environmental challenges and the different requirements and expectations of todays customers:
Its standard equipment – six air bags, ESP, electronic brake force distribution (EBFD), emergency brake assist (EBA) – and the design of its structure, gives the Peugeot iOn the same level of safety equipment as a conventional modern car. At the design stage, strong emphasis was laid on the safety and durability of components of the electric power train. The battery components are contained in a rigid, hermetically-sealed casing ideally positioned under the passenger compartment floor for maximum protection in the event of an impact, in the area most resistant to deformation. This also improves the vehicle’s weight distribution by lowering the centre of gravity. Recharging of the battery, either by a special quick charge unit or by means of a standard electrical socket using a special connecting cable, is controlled automatically according to the monitored parameters of the individual battery cells.
THE BATTERY
The lithium-ion battery was developed by Lithium Energy Japan (LEJ - joint venture Mitsubishi/GS-Yuasa). They are produced (in Kusatsu in Japan) in the worlds first factory dedicated to the mass production of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles.
The term lithium-ion covers several technologies. The choice of manganese oxide technology (cathodes with a manganese oxide LiMn2O4 base) is the best option to meet the operating requirements and required safety levels set for the vehicle. Each battery module has four or eight 3.7 V cells and a capacity of 50 Ah. With a total of 88 cells, connected in series, the battery pack can store 16 kWh of electrical energy with a nominal voltage of 330 V.
The recharging of each cell in the battery pack is controlled continuously by a control system which includes monitoring of each cell and a central battery controller.

- in addition to the Peugeot iOn, the Marque will be putting on sale a 100% electric light commercial vehicle, based initial on the current Partner Origin. iOn will, therefore, not be the Marques only electric vehicle. The first 100% electric LCV will be a Partner Origin developed by Venturi but for the longer term, work is underway to create new concepts adapted to 100% electric technology.

Changing Spark Plug on Peugeot 308
How do you change a spark, in terms of difficulty - if you got the right tools it is easy. First off, a round of inspection on the engine block:
To remove the spark, we got to remove coil packs, first off .. lifting the connector and disconnect the cable by pulling it out.
Twist the coil pack clockwise and anticlockwise to loosen it and pull it out. Remember that this step must be done when engine is completely cold else you wont be able to pull it out due to the heat expansion.
Unload coil packs, doing 1 at a time.
Inspect the coil packs.. if it is severely oxidized at the connector to the spark .. it is time to change the coil packs.
You need this tools to unlock the sparks, to the right is the OEM bi-hex 14mm required to remove the oem plugs. On the left is the 16mm hex tool for the iridium sparks plus some other ratchet kit i got to get it done. The extensions are required in order to reach the plugs installed inside the engine.
Now just fix the spark socket to the ratchet and reach for the plugs. Turn counterclockwise to remove ..until it is loose, then slowly lift up the spark using the socket. There is a catch within the spark socket, so make sure it is correctly seating on the spark before removing else you will drop the plug. If you drop it, you may need to check the gap again. As now we have direct access to the engine chamber .. it will be wise not to drop anything inside the engine else you will earn a visit to the SC with the toll truck.
The next step is just use the hex spark socket, ensure that it it seating properly holding the plug, slowly insert in and tighten until snug. Rules of thumb is to tighten using hand lightly until snug, then tighten for another 1/4 turn. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN ELSE YOU RISK DAMAGING THE THREAD. Our EP6DT is a aluminum block, be gentle with it.
Does it matter .. hell yeah .. after new plugs and smaller gap .. i did not had any misfiring so far ..
so keeping the gap and sparks clean does help.
Got out the old plugs to clean and regap as well. It is as easy as light tapping the ground on concrete ...

Rockstone F105 on Peugeot 308
Rockstone F105 |
Being typical on perspective we usually had with historical experience .. we tend to assume when it comes to branding .. and let move to china products ..
I for one would scorned when people get those china tyres .. Huh!! China tyres ... on the peugeot ... what the ...
Yup .. being out of option last minute before CNY .. i actually put on four on the pug ... and result .. it actually surprises me .. I was going for a soft and comfort tyre this round being as vehicle for wife and family i no longer need the performance edge ... actually Yoko DB was the preferred one.
Anyhow after intial run back to Kedah ..this tyre is soft and I manage to put it up to 170km/h - initial feel is that sidewall is soft hence more lean and less cornering abilities. But heck, it meets my initial objective .. a comfortable tyre. Reliability this is a question mark, only time will tell. But for now im happy - especially for the price i pay = RM280 per pc for 225/45/17 ... almost 1/2 price from a GY Assy 2!
The name sucks big time though .. they should be more creative though to come up with RockStone .. they should have name it Rolling Stone .... and its got the MOVES LIKE JAGGER!
* Just an update: i had driven for like 1/2 of the tyre lifespan ... so far there is no problems at all. Noise is still bearable .. in fact i think it does age better than Good Year in noise terms. Grip is still there .. would i change another .. yes in fact. Probably for my Gti also.

Intake Valve Cleaning Flushing whatever on the Peugeot 308 STP Carb Spray
Old news as i done it once ... so it was the threebond however it is not so easily available off the counter so i opt to test out some of the stuff we can easily get ... and cheap. 2012 Peugeot 308 CC
Specifications prices Modifications and Image 2012 Peugeot 308 CC
The new Peugeot 308 comes with a new look, features innovative e-HDi micro-hybrid technology and optimises fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, which start from just 98 g/km.
With its new lines, the Peugeot 308 subtly incorporates the Marques latest stylistic codes. The cars body follows the contours of the mechanical assembly underneath. The appeal of the three body shapes (Saloon, CC and SW) thus acquires a more technological elegance, illustrated by the presence of LED front lights with light guide. Dynamism and emotion are present as ever in the genes of the 308, particularly with its more assertive look thanks to new Xenon headlamps with titanium coloured mask and the hatchback in its exclusive GTi finish.
Determined to consolidate its leadership in terms of road holding and driving pleasure, the Peugeot 308 seeks to become a reference in terms of environmental efficiency. Indeed, following in the footsteps of the 508, the new Peugeot 308 features innovative e-HDi micro-hybrid technology, the latest generation STOP & START, on the 1.6 litre HDi FAP 112 bhp Euro 5 engine. This offer, on the "entry level" engine, is available with a semi-automatic manual gearbox and, for the first time, with a full manual gearbox, for optimal driveability.
A FLUID AND LUXURIOUS INTERIOR
Stylists worked hard to exploit to the full the interior volumes freed up by the semi-tall architecture of the Peugeot 308. They therefore designed a particularly inclined fascia panel, almost symmetrical to the front windscreen pillars, to offer unimpeded exterior visibility.
In addition, there was a marked determination to give the interior a very upmarket feel and an enhanced sense of perceived quality. The result is a fluid, pure and elegant fascia panel where pride of place is given to superior materials, according to finish: soft covering, leather trim, chrome, black lacquered materials… The care given to the finish and the emphasis on interior comfort are evident in every detail. According to the level in the range, new motifs decorate the door panel strips, panel trim, thumb rests on the steering wheel, etc. Similarly, the special seats on the GTi version have red visible stitching with specific marking on top of the seat back and an aluminium steering wheel ring showing the word “GTi”. Dark-tinted rear windows combined with dark wheel trims (Storm Grey) and the titanium mask of the discharge lamps, give this version a sporty and assertive identity, perfectly in keeping with the dynamic potential of its 1.6 litre THP 200 bhp engine.
Inside the 308 CC, the eye is caught also by the elegance of the 4 seats with integral head restraints and the possibility of full leather trim on the fascia panel, in different shades, which convey a touring car image. This distinctive design makes for even more comfortable seats with an Airwave warm air diffuser behind the necks of the front passengers. The pleasure of open-top driving is thus enhanced.
ELEGANT LINES ENHANCED BY ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
The design of the new Peugeot 308 subtly incorporates the new stylistic codes of the Peugeot Marque. While the dimensions are unchanged, the new lines marry as closely as possible the cars mechanical assembly to accentuate its athletic poise, while the front aspect gives a fresh look to the "floating" front grille concept. Greater importance accorded to unbroken surfaces marks a determination to present an elegant and luxurious style. The central protective capping, available in a black lacquer finish, has been made thinner to give greater prominence to the sheer metal. This is also true of the single air intake which is now smaller in size.
Styling elements enhance the natural elegance which emanates from the new 308. A satin chrome bead enhances the new front grille, as do horizontal bars, available in lustrous black or chrome according to body shape (saloon, CC or SW).
The bottom section of the lower front panel, which helps visually to broaden the car and "plant" it on the road, incorporates new dual-function lights (daytime and sidelights) shaped like a boomerang, available according to versions. With their meticulous finish, they blend perfectly and are harmoniously positioned on the upper surround of the fog light housing. Composed of variable intensity LEDs and a light guide, they guarantee a unique visual signature by day and by night while illustrating the high level of technology featured on the new 308.
In the upper section, the V-shaped nose of the bonnet is one of the main expressive features of the Peugeot 308. It has been redesigned to fit the cars mechanical assembly as closely as possible and provides a new link with the floating front grille, in line with Peugeots new stylistic codes. The Marque badge, in its new dual material construction, is proudly positioned at the tip of the bonnet on a new black lacquer base set with a chrome bead, also in the shape of a V.
The outline of this nose, fluid and characteristic, is more curvaceous, particularly at the junction of the lights and the bonnet. The new smooth glass front headlamps, closely fitting the three cylinders, suggest a look that is both refined and assertive. And when the 308 is equipped with dynamic bi-directional Xenon headlamps complete with titanium coloured base, this look becomes even more profound, displaying all the strength of character of the new 308.
HIGH LEVEL SAFETY ON AL CO UNTS
Whether in terms of primary, secondary or tertiary safety, the new 308 is positioned at the highest level.
Firstly, the excellent rigidity of the structure ensures optimal operation of the wheels and suspension ensuring a high level of primary safety. In terms of secondary safety, the structure itself has been rigorously designed to withstand even the most severe impact, thanks in particular to a triple force channel at the front. The use of high-strength steel and "multilayer" reinforcements in specific areas has made it possible to raise the level of safety of occupants while reducing the overall weight of the car. In addition to the performance of the structure, efficient means of restraint are proposed:

The 2012 Peugeot 308 seeks to become a reference in terms of environmental efficiency.
At launch four petrol and four diesel engines will be available.
4 Euro 5 petrol engines:
4 Euro 5 petrol engines:
- 1.4 litre VTi 98 bhp with 5-speed manual gearbox;
- 1.6 litre VTi 120 bhp with 5-speed manual gearbox or automatic gearbox;
- 1.6 litre THP 156 bhp with 6-speed manual gearbox or automatic gearbox;
- 1.6 litre THP 200 bhp with 6-speed manual gearbox (exclusive to GTi version).
4 Euro 5 diesel engines:
- 1.6 litre HDi FAP 92 bhp with 5-speed manual gearbox;
- 1.6 litre e-HDi FAP 112 bhp with 6-speed manual gearbox or electronically-controlled manual gearbox;
- 2.0 litre HDi FAP 150 bhp with 6-speed manual gearbox;
- 2.0 litre HDi FAP 163 bhp with automatic gearbox or 6-speed manual gearbox (only on the 308 CC).
- up to 8 air bags on the saloon and SW;
- up to 6 air bags on the CC, including 2 head air bags at the front;
- extractible safety hoops on the CC in the event of rollover;
- 3-point seat belts with belt not fastened or unfastened acoustic warnings;
- Isofix fixtures.

Peugeot 107
Peugeot 107, 2013
The Peugeot 107 is renewed, more modern and even more urban, a spirited response to the thirst for autonomy, independence and freedom!
Its subtle and sophisticated style, inspired by the new look of the Peugeot marque, gives it a new power of attraction.
Great attention has been paid to its appeal without making any sacrifices in terms of its advantages when facing the constraints of city driving; it has become even more practical and fuel-efficient.
A market and customer base which is constantly changing
The Peugeot 107 evolves and is enriched with a regularly renewed range, special editions and new equipment, in order to keep up with customer expectations.
Its markets have developed too with 16 new countries making a total of 48 countries where it is now sold.
Like most vehicles in this category, the 107 is often the second or even the third vehicle of the household. On the other hand, it distinguishes itself from its segment with an even more predominantly female customer base and appeals to a higher proportion of single people.
The satisfaction that it offers, above all through its manoeuvrability, driving pleasure and economy is above the average for its segment.
After more than 665,000 vehicles produced by the end of 2011, the 107 is now writing a new chapter in its history.
Its aim: to develop its advantages in an increasingly competitive segment.
A new exterior style, subtle and sophisticated
With a completely redesigned front face and unchanged dimensions, the Peugeot 107 adopts the new style of the Peugeot marque, with a look that is both subtle and sophisticated, cut as closely as possible to the mechanics, while retaining its compactness.
The new, more curved bonnet incorporates the new identity of the marque, so the rib of the bonnet which frames the two-tone lion and the number plate repositioned in the centre of the lower front panel hint at its relationship with the 208.
While retaining their shape and their high position, the light units are more refined: at the front, they are extended and adopt a two-tone mask, echoing the colour of the marque emblem situated on the bonnet, whereas at the rear they are adorned with a dark mask thus framing the lamps with a deep ruby colour.
The new radiator grille, composed of honeycomb cells specific to the 107, forms a fine and distinguished mouth, suspended by the body colour that surrounds it.
"It is another interpretation of the floating grille, adapted to the size and architecture of the 107." Ivo Groen, 107 style manager
The new lower front panel has contact cappings - one on the front face and the other two at the side - both aesthetic and protective, particularly useful in urban driving conditions.
The Peugeot 107 adopts a new visual signature at the lower front panel by means of LED day running lamps that emphasise the side protectors, and - according to the model - foglamps animated by a chromed bead.
All of these style components, designed with the utmost care, associated with a sharp body sill line and new trims, give the 107 a new identity, modern and likeable, combining refinement and a strong and thoroughbred appeal.
Furthermore, the range of colours sees the addition of an exclusive new "Plum" colour, modern and attractive, which matches perfectly with its character.
Inside, new equipment and colour schemes
The new "Mistral" interior colour scheme, the new "Manhattan" seat upholstery and the twomaterial door and dashboard trims, which now sport a single black colour, improve the perceived quality of the passenger compartment and give it a touch of refinement.
New comfort equipment makes an appearance, such as:
- The CD audio system has 2 additional speakers as standard or as an option according to the level of finish.
- A new PC Bluetooth CD audio system available as an option, combined with 2 additional speakers, offers USB, MP3 and Bluetooth connections that are usually found on vehicles of higher segments.
- A new steering wheel combined with a new gear lever knob, both leather trimmed, available as standard or as an option.
A simple range and improved features
The Peugeot 107 still has a simple range with 2 levels of finish, available in 3-door and 5-door versions and with 2 engines: 1.0i 5-speed manual and 1.0i 5-speed two-tronic manual.
Its features improve still further with its new audio system that contributes to a higher level of comfort.
The leather-trimmed steering wheel, standard with the two-tronic gearbox is also fitted with steering wheel paddles making the 107 even more manoeuvrable and agile.
Its LED day running lamps and the foglamps, now available as an option or as standard according to the model, contribute to the safety of its occupants, making it more visible in all conditions.
"Last but not least", already very well placed as regards environmental efficiency in its segment, the Peugeot 107 lowers its levels of CO2 emissions still further to 99 and 104 g/km respectively for the manual and two-tronic gearboxes.
It running costs are also improved with fuel consumption reduced to 4.3 and 4.5 l per 100km respectively for the manual and two-tronic gearboxes.
A truly feminine special edition!
A very feminine special edition christened "ENVY" will be available at the launch in March 2012. This fashionable and glamorous version, adorned with either the new "Plum" colour or "Caldera Black", bears special decorations with a cherry blossom branch motif, in particular stickers on the rear door, the bonnet and the tailgate, a "Plum" colour embroidered and braided mat and a rev counter central decoration.
Aluminium door sills and a badge give an additional touch of refinement.
A style line taking up the cherry blossom branch motif is also available. It has a clever handbag pocket, ideal for organising your belongings and changing handbag without forgetting anything, as well as a very practical handbag hook - retractable and therefore compact - which is extremely useful for keeping your handbag "to hand and in sight", without placing it on the floor.
A wide range of personalisation and comfort accessories
With accessories developed especially for it, the Peugeot 107 also fulfils the desire for distinction and adapts to different uses.
Alloy wheels, a brushed aluminium gear lever knob, chromed effect door sills or mats embroidered with "107" give a touch of elegance and a distinctive character.
On the practical side, a retractable navigation system which has a connection for an iPhone or iPod and which integrates perfectly into the dashboard and a central armrest with storage compartment improve comfort and driving pleasure still further.
As regards the side mouldings, these will protect the bodywork against urban impacts.
For leisure pursuits, the Peugeot 107 offers various roof boxes and roof bars for transporting bicycles, skis, etc. and numerous other accessories are also waiting to be discovered in the Peugeot network.

Rear boot lights Peugeot 308 Volkswagen polo gti
As usual im a sucker for lights .. so i decided to light up the rear boot as i felt the original OEM lighting was certainly not bright enough for my liking. Hence went for a hunt and got 2 strips of amber LED similar to the ones i use for the footwell. This are pretty easy to wire hence you can just go around the boot perimeter ... the hardest task is only opening up the original light casing .. some pictures to light up the day:
