Marchionne Comments on Chryslers Diesel Future

If the announcement of the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel has you excited you can expect more diesels from Chrysler very soon.

Today Chrysler Group LLC CEO Sergio Marchionne took the time to answer questions from standard media as well as a special contingent of social media based Chrysler enthusiasts. While most of the questions focuses on the business side of the operation Marchionne was kind enough to comment on the future of diesel engines at Chrysler.

According to Marchionne Chrysler customers can expect to see a small engine than the 3.0 liter V6 in the Grand Cherokee in the next year. He was unwilling to comment on what specific vehicle the engine was for, but Marchionne did imply that the 3.0 liter V-6 is the largest non-truck engine that will be available in the United States.

The question is what car or utility vehicle will be the next in line to receive the diesel treatment. What car do you want to see with a diesel engine? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter at @talipa2012.
