The 2010 Lincoln MKS
The two biggest differences you’ll notice between the GSR, MR and the MR Touring trim-levels are the MR Touring’s standard power glass sunroof and the standard lip spoiler. Power still comes from the 2.0L DOHC MIVEC turbocharged engine making 291-hp with a maximum torque of 300 lb-ft. All that is sent to the wheels through a 6-speed Twin Clutch Sportronic Shift Transmission with magnesium steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters. The 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR Touring also gets heated leather RECARO front sports seats and heated side mirrors.
Add a $1,999 navigation system package and other accessories (see the list after the jump) and your fully-loaded 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR Touring can hit a whopping price-tag of $52,728.
Here at Gear Patrol’s New York branch, we do our fair share of golfing, no thanks to the tyrannical tee-time scheduling of Patrick Tuttle. The Land Rover we keep parked in midtown Manhattan does a fine job soldiering us to each week’s round. Our only hurdles being either poor traffic conditions or my usal to heed the exact distances the Garmin GPS (and passengers) are screaming at me. “Turn left in 50 yards” isn’t as easy a command as it seems when entering the hell that is the New Jersey side of the George Washington Bridge (see map after the jump).
Luckily, one of the perks of manning Gear Patrol is getting the chance to test things out in real world environments, and that’s exactly what Lincoln wanted us to do with the near $50,000 Red Candy 2010 Lincoln MKS. We, in typical GP fashion, took it out for a round of golf and put it through its paces in the (c)armageddon we fondly call New York, New York.

Lincoln MKS That Of Luxury
Lincoln offers us a range of vehicles quite exemplary for 2013, especially on the side of its large sedans. The MKS has many improvements, including aesthetics. The new adaptive suspension should also enable it to compete with Germans in this area. However, dropping the front wheel drive to all wheel drive series, Lincoln has significantly increased the average consumption of its large luxury sedan.
The Lincoln MKS 2013Â is built on the same platform as the Ford Taurus, a common practice among North American manufacturers. This allows to reduce production costs and offer luxury vehicles to the public at reasonable prices. That said, the Lincoln MKS comes in two versions – TI and TI EcoBoost – including the base price ranges from $ 47,700 and $ 52,200.
Mechanics hand picked
In its basic version, the 2013 Lincoln MKS is equipped with a 3.7-liter V6, the same engine that powers the base Mustang. Thanks to its 305 horsepower and 280 foot-pounds of torque, the latter allows the sedan American manufacturer to make a 0-100 in less than 7 seconds. However, due to its heavy weight and its AWD, the Lincoln MKS 2013Â Base displays average fuel consumption of 11.6L/100km city and 7.5L/100km on the highway.
Performance enthusiasts will love the softness and brutality can show the EcoBoost engine available as an option on the Lincoln MKS 2013. Developing 365 horsepower and 350 pounds-feet of torque 3.5-liter V6 that is as powerful as most V8 engines available on the market. Nevertheless, with an average fuel consumption of 12.2L/100km city and 7.8L/100km on the road, it is also a gourmand V8 engine.
Not so perfect that it…Lincoln MKS 2013
The Lincoln MKS 2013Â features a new grille that is sure to attract attention. The latter serves as the flagship of continuity, which adds a great touch of elegance to the look of the luxury sedan of the American manufacturer.
In contrast, Lincoln seems to have overlooked some details which are nevertheless fundamental in the middle of large luxury sedans. At first, the rear part of the Lincoln MKS 2013Â is simple outrageous. However, the feature that Lincoln would have long since changed is the low carbon colored skirt, a detail that is not without shock.
Well equipped as standard Lincoln MKS 2013
SYNC, adaptive suspension, climate control voice recognition are just a few of the standard features found on the sedan the American manufacturer. It is by no means necessary to engage in the purchase of expensive options for a finished product with interesting Lincoln MKS 2013.
