Bentley Continental GT Speed
Bentley shows new 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed. New generation of GT is the flagship predecessors in the shade.
About two years after the presentation of the revised Continental and one year after the launch of the facelift Convertible GTC, Bentley sends now the flagship of its highly successful series retreaded into the race. This still sounds on the additional title "Speed" and once again trumped up with new superlatives.
Drive
When speed is of course not the new 8-cylinder, but the proven six-liter 12-cylinder biturbo (W-shape) is used. This makes the updated standard 575 hp model. 2012 Bentley Continental GT V8
For Crewes design and engineering teams, the new Bentley Continental GT coupe is an opportunity to set a bold and exciting direction for one of Bentleys most revered names - the Continental. The seminal and highly successful Bentley Continental GT introduced in 2003 represented the first step in Bentleys renaissance and defined a whole new market segment. It was a luxury GT offering excellent usability that remained true to the Bentley grand touring spirit.
Now the new Continental GT 4-seat coupe builds on the success of its iconic predecessor, capturing that GT spirit but with even higher standards of design, engineering, luxury, craftsmanship, dynamic performance, everyday practicality and refinement.
A beautifully sculptured new body gives the Bentley Continental GT coupe an even crisper, more defined appearance. The contemporary interior offers new levels of cabin design, comfort and hand-crafted luxury. The seats, for example, provide even greater support and rear leg-room; a sweeping dashboard even more style and modernity. The new touchscreen infotainment system features state-of-the-art navigation, Google Maps and entertainment while the latest Balanced Mode Radiator speaker technology and Dirac Dimensions™ digital sound processing deliver enhanced audio quality.
Bentleys acclaimed 6-litre, 12-cylinder, twin-turbocharged powertrain now has a raised power output of 575PS (567bhp/423kW) and 700Nm (516lb ft) of torque and this is mated to a new Quickshift transmission which enables double downshifts. Thanks to advanced FlexFuel technology it can also run on both standard unleaded petrol (gasoline) and sustainable bioethanol (up to E85) or any mix of the two.
Both models are specified with 20-inch alloy wheels as standard with an optional 21-inch six-spoke design which is available in dramatic Diamond Black (exclusive to the Continental V8) or Diamond Silver finishes.
Inside the cabin, an Eliade cloth headlining, new contemporary Dark Fiddleback Eucalyptus veneers, optional two-tone leather colour split and short centre console continue the fresh, sporting design theme.
The two new Continental models will be offered beneath the flagship 6.0 litre,12-cylinder engined Continental GT and GTC, which continue to excite customers with a combination of silken refinement and the ultimate power of the twin-turbocharged W12 Continental engine that, in its most potent form, delivers an astonishing 631bhp (640PS).
