The new Volkswagen Golf was built, the so-called MQB (Modularer Querbaukasten) platform, or Modular Transverse Matrix. At 4,255 mm in length, the new Volkswagen Golf, 56 mm longer than its predecessor, with 59 mm longer wheelbase 2,637 mm.
